Abstract:
Established in 1992, CSU’s Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory (EECL) is recognized as a leading global research program in engines, engine control systems, combustion, and advanced biofuels. In 2012, the EECL was again named one of the top university research labs in the US by Popular Science magazine because of its entrepreneurial approach, global influence, and as a pioneer of student-centered experiential learning. EECL research focuses on maximizing the efficiency of the devices that convert fossil fuels to energy, minimizing the environmental impact of energy conversion devices and enabling these devices to operate on a variety of fuels (natural gas, biogas, liquid biofuels, and hydrogen).
